DKI PWNU Visits DKI City Hall Ahead Of The Congress, Anies Leaves This Message

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Nadhlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU), Samsul Ma'arif, and his staff visited the office of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ahead of the 34th NU Congress.

After the meeting, Anies admitted that the arrival of the DKI PWNU to the DKI City Hall was to discuss the issue of the NU Congress. Anies officially released their departure to Lampung, where the congress was being held.

"We welcome the chairman of PWNU, Kiai Samsul Maarif, and all PWNU ranks who are preparing to leave for the NU Congress which will take place on 22 and 23. We officially release the departure of the delegation from Jakarta, which tomorrow morning they will immediately leave for Lampung", said Anies at DKI City Hall, Monday, December 20.

Anies hopes that the departing PWNU DKI delegation can carry out the activities of the congress which will be held the day after tomorrow smoothly and return to Jakarta in good health.

"We hope that everyone is healthy on the trip and can participate in the congress and the congress will also run smoothly and successfully and later everything will benefit NU, for the people and the Indonesian nation. We believe tomorrow's congress will be an example for all of us", explained Anies.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nadhlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU) DKI Jakarta, Samsul Ma'arif, said he was happy because he had received Anies' attention in planning his departure for the congress.

"I feel especially happy that he has helped us in planning our departure to the Congress. Indeed, we hope that this year's Congress is truly a quality, dignified, and beneficial congress for the nation and state", said Samsul Maarif.

For information, the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress is scheduled for December 22-23, 2021 in Lampung. The two candidates who are expected to compete are Katib Aam, Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya, and the current Chairman of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siroj.

The NU congress is estimated to be attended by 2,295 participants from 34 PWNU (102 people), 521 PCNU (1,563 people), 31 PCINU (93 people), as well as 14 autonomous bodies (42 people) and 18 institutions (54 people) at the central level.

In addition, there were also PBNU delegates from syuriyah, mustasyar and tanfidziyah elements.
