Charta Politica Survey Shows President, TNI And Police Most Trusted By The Public, KPK In What Order?

JAKARTA - The survey institute Charta Politika Indonesia at the end of its year-end survey showed that the President, TNI, and Polri were the highest state institutions trusted by respondents.

According to the results of a survey involving 1,200 respondents, around 84.6 percent of respondents or more than 1,000 people interviewed believe in President Joko Widodo.

The TNI ranks second for the highest state institutions that are most trusted by the public according to the Charta Politica survey results. According to the survey results, around 83.7 percent of respondents believe in the TNI. Then, the National Police ranks third with the acquisition of 72.6 percent.

In fourth and next, there is the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) (70.3 percent), the Constitutional Court (62.1 percent), the Attorney General's Office (61.3 percent), the Supreme Court (60.3 percent), the People's Consultative Assembly (58.6 percent), the People's Representative Council (58.6 percent), and the Regional Representatives Council (57.9 percent).

Executive Director of Charta Politica Indonesia Yunarto Wijaya explained that there has been a change in state institutions that are trusted by the public.

Previous survey results show that the KPK is usually in the top three with the TNI and the President. However, a number of survey results conducted in the last few months show that the position of the KPK has been replaced by the National Police.

"Some of the findings, the Police managed to overtake the KPK, I think this is interesting if it is examined specifically. Does it have anything to do with the revision of the KPK Law? Does it have something to do with some recent events, such as the new KPK chairman. What is clear is that recently the position of the KPK has decreased, overtaken by the National Police," Yunarto said when presenting the results of the virtual survey, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 20.

The high level of public trust in the president is in line with the level of satisfaction with the government's performance, he explained.

The results of the Charta Politica survey showed that 70.1 percent of respondents were satisfied with the government's performance, while 29.4 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied.

Chartapolitika further explored the findings and found that the majority of respondents who voted satisfied came from areas that gave the largest votes to President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin during the 2019 General Election (Pemilu) namely East Java, Central Java. , Yogyakarta, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, the majority of respondents who claimed to be dissatisfied with the government's performance came from Sulawesi, DKI Jakarta, Banten, and Sumatra. These areas became the basis of Jokowi's opposition vote during the 2019 election.
