JAKARTA - The peak of the G20 Summit will be held in Bali from October to December 2022. The eyes of the world will focus on the island of Bali. All stakeholders, including in the context of electricity, are asked to be on standby. PT General Energy Bali (GEB) will play an important role.

The State Electricity Company (PLN) and Independent Power Producer (IPP) were asked to be alert and maintain performance for the successful implementation of the Summit. PT GEB, with a capacity of 380 megawatts and has contributed to 50 percent of Bali's electricity needs, is very important.

PLN Dispatch Coordinator PT GEB Helmy Rosadi said PLN requested that the electricity supply from the PLTU Celukan Bawang remain reliable. PLN also asked PT GEB to minimize disturbances during the Summit standby period.

PT GEB itself is committed to always maintaining the reliability of PLTU operations during the G20-KTT period. Various improvements were made on the internal side of the power plant.

"Strict supervision is carried out. Additional inspection frequencies are carried out in critical areas of the plant, such as Boilers, Turbines, Electrical Systems, BOPs, and so on," said Helmy, contacted by VOI, Monday, December 20.

On the other hand, to achieve reliable electricity supply, routine maintenance of the PLTU unit is required, which is planned to be carried out in one of the units in mid-September 2021. This plan has been previously approved.

However, PLN requested that this schedule be rescheduled because it is predicted that it will have an effect on the fulfillment of the AFp contract at PPA. "Unless it is necessary to reset contract values, especially AFp & SO hours."

"In this regard, PLN has requested a follow-up meeting with PT GEB to get a win-win solution so that routine maintenance can still be carried out and on the contractual side it can still be carried out in accordance with what is stated in the PPA."
