Update On COVID-19 As Of August 18: New Cases Of 1,673, Positivity Rate 13.2 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. Of the 14,371 specimens examined, there were 1,673 new positive cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours.

This figure exceeds the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO) which sets a fair limit for the positivity rate of 5 percent.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 513 new cases and a total of 30,465 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, East Java has 312 new cases with a total of 28,551 cases. North Sumatra with 130 new cases and a total of 5,820 cases. Central Java with 118 new cases and a total of 11,793 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 93 new cases and a total of 2,578 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 588 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 377 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with an increase of 223 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 95 cases recovered.
