Blasphemy Suspect Joseph Suryadi Finally Confesses To Police After Playing

JAKARTA - The police stated that the suspect in the alleged blasphemy case, Josep Suryadi, admitted all his actions. Although, he had argued by making a play as if his cellphone was lost.

"The person concerned has admitted that his posts on social media constitute blasphemy or blasphemy against a religion," said Head of Public Relations of the Merto Jaya Police, Kombes E. Zulpan, to reporters, Friday, December 17.

The charade Joseph made by pretending his cell phone was lost. In fact, the cell phone has been hidden in the warehouse of his house.

"Evidence that was lost yesterday, according to the suspect's confession. This has been found by investigators who are stored in the warehouse of the house in question," said Zulpan.

Previously, Joseph Suryadi had been named a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case behind the viral #TangkapJosephSuryadi. The determination of the suspect was based on several pieces of evidence and the results of the case.

In that case, Josep Suryadi was charged with Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 1 and/or Article 28 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law No. 16 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law No. 11 of 2016 concerning information and electronic transactions and/or Article 156. Criminal Code and/or Article 156 a of the Criminal Code.
