Follow Instructions From The Ministry Of Home Affairs, West Kalimantan Provincial Government Forbids Christmas And New Year Celebrations At Shopping Centers

PONTIANAK - Head of the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Health Service Harrison said his party had banned the celebration of Christmas 2021 and New Year's 2022 in malls and shopping centers to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the province.

"This prohibition is based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 at Christmas in 2021 and New Year in 2022. However, there are exceptions for exhibitions of small, micro, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," he said. Harisson in Pontianak, Antara, Friday, December 17.

Harisson said other points related to New Year's celebrations in malls and shopping centers were also explained in the Inmendagri. Among other things, reminding the public to celebrate the new year individually/with family as much as possible, avoid crowds and travel.

"This includes carrying out activities in their respective neighborhoods that do not have the potential to cause crowds," he said.

Harisson added that the Inmendagri also mentioned the prohibition of new year's parades and processions as well as the prohibition of both open and closed Old and New Year events that could potentially cause crowds.

The public is also reminded to use the PeduliLindung application when entering and exiting malls/shopping centers.

"Only visitors with the green category are allowed to enter," he said.

He reminded the management to extend the operating hours of shopping centers and malls from 10.00-21.00 local time to 09.00-22.00 WIB.

"The goal is to prevent crowds at certain hours and to limit the number of visitors not exceeding 75 percent of capacity," said Harrison.

In addition, it must be ensured that the implementation of health protocols runs more strictly. Then for eating and drinking activities in shopping centers/malls, it can be done with a maximum capacity limit of 75 percent with the implementation of stricter health protocols.
