COVID-19 Update As Of December 16: 213 New Cases, Accumulated 4,259,857 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 304,610 specimens were examined with the result that there were 213 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,259,857 people and 4,833 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, December 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 213 cases, bringing the total to 4,111,045 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 10 people and a total of 143,979 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 40 cases and a total of 864,489 cases. Followed by West Java with 38 new cases with a total of 708,486 cases. East Java has 24 new cases and a total of 399,821 cases. Then, Central Java with 23 new cases and a total of 486,710 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 38 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 37 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 31 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 24 recovered cases.

7 provinces are reporting no new cases today. The provinces are Bengkulu, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku and Papua. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 59,343,891.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.09 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,675 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 149,205,571 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 105,238,121 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 1,266,581. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
