SULTRA - The Kendari City Government, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) asked that the recipients of social assistance (bansos) are residents who have undergone COVID-19 vaccination so that they can push the vaccination coverage target in the local area.

Kendari City Secretary Nahwa Umar said, to achieve the vaccination target, his party will continue to innovate, such as ensuring that all recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and other social assistance have received the COVID-19 vaccination.

"This is not a requirement for recipients, but we just want to raise awareness to the public about the importance of vaccination," said Nahwa in Kendari, Antara, Wednesday, December 15.

Nahwa said that the municipal government does not require that the recipient of the social assistance must have a vaccine certificate. However, his party appealed to the public to be aware of the importance of vaccination in order to protect themselves from COVID-19 while at the same time achieving the 70 percent vaccination target by the end of December 2021.

The vaccination target is considered achievable if all recipients of social assistance (bansos) such as recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and state civil servants (ASN) are confirmed to have received vaccine injections.

Nahwa said ASN is also required to participate in vaccinations if they want a validated PNS employee income allowance (TPP). Because, Nahwa ensured that ASN who did not receive the TPP PNS vaccine would not be validated.

"Until today, our ASN vaccination achievement is only more than 50 percent. It means, there are still more than 40 percent of ASN who have not been vaccinated and we will guide them. The existing data is only from OPD, apart from teachers. So, this is what we are trying to rush to can achieve the target of 80 percent. ASN must set an example," said Nahwa.

The head of the Kendari Health Office Rahminingrum said the vaccination coverage in the local area reached 183,118 or 69.06 percent of the first dose of 265,147 targets.

"Meanwhile, the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination has now been carried out to 124,613 or 47 percent. Then, the third dose for health workers has reached 3,296 or 79.4 percent of the 4,151 targets," said Rahminingrum.

According to data from the Kendari City COVID-19 Task Force, currently the area has zero active cases of COVID-19 from the cumulative number of corona virus infection cases, which were recorded at 7,721 cases, with 7,626 people who have recovered and 95 patients who died.
