JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya will hold a focus group discussion (FGD) with various parties, including illegal racing communities. The goal is to discuss the realization of making circuits to facilitate illegal racers.
"There is IMI, the provincial government, the Transportation Agency, the community, various workshops, all related instructions," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Wednesday, December 15. "The wild racing community (also) is invited," he continued.
The plan is that the FGD will take place on Tuesday, December 21. However, until now the number of illegal racing communities who will be invited to exchange ideas has not been confirmed.
"We are still collecting data, some of us have opened registration on their Instagram accounts and some who have registered to take part in the FGD have their own team to accommodate them," said Sambodo.
On the other hand, Sambodo said that in the FGD, various things would be discussed comprehensively. One of them, about the location of the circuit.
"In fact, from that discussion we will discuss several alternative circuits," said Sambodo.
Previously, the Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran would facilitate the illegal racers. The trick, by opening a special location for racing at night.
"That's why I want to build a (race venue). My plan, pray for me, hopefully (it will be realized). I will make a race for illegal racers," said Fadil to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.
One of the reasons behind the discourse of creating locations for illegal racers is coaching. So, they do not take to the streets and carry out illegal racing actions that endanger lives.
"So I will facilitate the illegal racing, not be hostile. Instead of being arrested, I will facilitate him," said Inspector General Fadil.
"I've gotten a lot of input from the community so that the Kapolda can help this night wild racing be fostered, not arrested but fostered," he continued.
