LOMBOK - A total of 634 traders at the Narmada traditional market, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, have used the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) for non-cash transactions.

The launch of QRIS at the Narmada Traditional Market was carried out by the Regent of West Lombok, Fauzan Khalid and the Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia (BI) NTB Province, Heru Saptaji today.

Fauzan Khalid appreciates the efforts made by various parties so that the implementation of non-cash transactions at Narmada Traditional Market can be realized.

"This is a tangible form of continuation of the formation of the Regional Digitization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) and is in line with the slogan Berioq to Digital (Together with digital)," he said in West Lombok as reported by Antara, Monday, December 13.

According to Fauzan, the existence of this new means of transaction can improve the welfare of traders through efficient transactions.

"That way the economy can also continue to grow and support the recovery of the national economy with the digital economy as a driving factor," he said.

The Head of the BI Representative for the Province of NTB Heru Saptaji added that inclusive digital transactions are one of Bank Indonesia's five strategies in improving the regional economy.

Especially for QRIS, he said, currently there are 125,005 QRIS merchants spread throughout NTB, and 13,152 of them are in West Lombok Regency.

Nationally, the number of QRIS merchants has reached 13 million merchants with an increasing trend of transactions.

"The average transaction volume growth during January to October 2021 reached 151.49 percent (yoy) with an average transaction value growth of 143.68 percent (yoy) in the same period," he said.

The non-cash transaction method, according to Heru, is also in accordance with the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol, in which the entire transaction process does not involve any physical contact between the seller and the buyer.

"Not only with BNI, other institutions can also participate in providing support for increasing non-cash payments for the people of NTB," he said.
