Good News, Batam City Has Zero COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - The Batam City COVID-19 Task Force, Riau Islands, said that this area had zero cases of COVID-19 as two people were declared recovered and no additional residents were confirmed positive for the corona virus.

"Alhamdulillah, today all the patients being treated have recovered, Batam is back in the green zone and there are zero cases of COVID-19," said Batam City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Azril Apriansyah as quoted by Antara, Saturday.

That way, now all sub-districts in Batam have become a COVID-19 green zone.

"The cure rate is 96.742 percent, death is 3.258 percent, active cases are zero percent or zero cases," said Azril.

The Task Force recorded a total of 25,843 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, 25,001 of whom recovered and 842 others died.

Mentioned, from 842 cases died in Batam, 433 of them without comorbid and 409 others with comorbid.

The most comorbid diseases in the deaths of COVID-19 patients were diabetes mellitus as many as 216 cases, hypertension as many as 182 cases, and pneumonia as many as 104 cases.

Meanwhile, the results of the Batam COVID-19 situation assessment as of December 9, 2021 are PPKM level 1.

It is stated that the level 1 community transmission assessment with confirmation cases is 0.13 per 100,000 population per week, hospitalization is 0.00 per 100,000 population per week, and death is 0.00 per 100,000 population per week.

Then for testing it is considered adequate, with a positivity rate of 0.01 percent per week, tracing is also considered adequate with a close contact ratio examined of 15.0 per confirmed case per week, and adequate treatment with 1.27 percent BOR per week.

Likewise, vaccination is considered adequate with a total of 99.62 percent of the target population having received the first dose of vaccine injection. Meanwhile for the elderly, as many as 82.69 percent of the target population had been vaccinated with the first dose.
