JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has rehabilitated 3,962 victims of gross human rights violations over the past 10 years. However, this effort is not another form of impunity so that the state is required to make a settlement.

"We continue to encourage the state to resolve the issue of serious human rights violations through the pro-justicia mechanism as well as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission," said LPSK Deputy Chair Edwin Partogi Pasaribu in a written statement, Friday, December 10.

Edwin revealed that those who received LPSK services during 2012-2021 were victims of seven gross human rights violations, namely Incident 65; Incidents of Enforced Disappearances; Tanjung Priok incident; Talangsari incident; Jambu Keupok incident; KKA intersection; and the Geudong House in Aceh.

The rehabilitation provided is in the form of medical, psychological, and psychosocial assistance services. As for the details, medical assistance was given to 3,385 victims; psychological rehabilitation for 622 victims; and psychosocial rehabilitation for 31 victims.

"The victims of serious human rights violations who have been rehabilitated by LPSK, domiciled in 20 provinces in Indonesia. Most of them are in Central Java (2,488), West Sumatra (538), Yogyakarta (284), West Java (178) and East Java (152). )," he said.

In addition to the seven incidents whose victims have received LPSK rehabilitation, said Edwin, Komnas HAM has also determined 8 other incidents as serious human rights violations, namely the Mysterious Shooting Incident; the Trisakti, Semanggi I and Semanggi II events; The Banyuwangi Witchcraft Incident; Wasior Incident, Wamena and Paniai Incident (Papua); East Timor, and Abepura.

In particular, the cases of serious human rights violations in East Timor, Tanjung Priok, and Abepura, all three have been tried through the Human Rights Court. However, all the perpetrators who were brought before the trial were acquitted in the final verdict.

With this condition, LPSK urges President Jokowi to immediately complete his homework (PR) to investigate this gross human rights violation. Thus, victims whose rights have been violated get justice.

"In the next three years, President Jokowi's leadership should complete homework to bring justice to victims of gross human rights violations," he said.
