Minister Of Home Affairs: Samsat Must Be Innovative And Implement E-Government

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian advised that Samsat must be innovative and implement e-Government in an integrated manner.

The Acting Director General of Regional Finance at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Agus Fatoni, in a written statement conveyed the message from the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, through the Coordination Meeting of the National Samsat Trustees for the 2021 Fiscal Year.

"Observing the huge potential for motor vehicle taxes (PKB) and transfer fees for motorized vehicles (BBNKB), Samsat needs to innovate and implement e-Government in an integrated manner from the center to the regions," Agus Fatoni said conveying the message from the Minister of Home Affairs, Thursday, December 9. .

This step, he said, was taken so that Samsat could optimize revenue potential while providing fast and easy services for the community.

PKB and BBNKB are important sources of income to finance regional development. Based on data from the Ministry of Home Affairs compiled from the Regional Revenue Agency for Provincial Governments throughout Indonesia, it is known that PKB and BBNKB contributed 46.11 percent of the total realized regional original income (PAD) 2020.

In addition, the Minister of Home Affairs advised that the Samsat Development Team institution be formally formed and it is necessary to establish a joint secretariat.

The Minister of Home Affairs, said Agus, emphasized that database reconciliation between the regional government and Korlantas must continue so that data accountability for the number of active vehicles, PKB, and BBNKB can be realized.

Then, he said, Samsat needs to be supported by reliable implementing human resources (HR) supported by capacity building efforts.

"The Minister of Home Affairs appreciates the implementation of the National Samsat Supervisory Coordination Meeting," said Agus.

The agenda is considered important to equalize perceptions from various parties so that problems related to Samsat services can be resolved and find appropriate and accountable solutions, he said.
