Going To Mourn, A Family From Bondowoso Accident On The Ijen Route, One Person Dies

BANYUWANGI - A tragic fate befell a family from Bondowoso, East Java. When they were about to pay their respects, the family had an accident on the Ijen Line, Banyuwangi. One person died at the scene.

The Head of the Licin Police, Iptu Dalyono, said that the cause of the accident was allegedly due to the vehicle being driven by the victim experiencing a failed brake. There were three victims in this accident.

The victims are Karsono (41) and a toddler with the initials SIA who survived. Meanwhile, Arwani (45) suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

"This victim was a family group who wanted to pay their respects to relatives in Cluring Banyuwangi. But unfortunately while crossing the Ijen route, they had an accident," said Licin police chief Iptu Dalyono, Wednesday, December 8.

Dalyono told that the family rode a Vario motorbike with the number P 2644 C driving from Bondowoso to Banyuwangi.

Arriving at the steep descent, it was suspected that the motorbike driven by Karsono had a failed brake. The vehicle glides freely without control.

"It caused the victims to fall and experience heavy impacts on the asphalt. Victim Arwani died at the scene, Karsono suffered serious injuries to his head and hands. While the child was not injured," said Iptu Dalyono.

The victims have been evacuated and taken to the hospital.

"As for the current vehicle, we have also evacuated and secured it to the Licin Police Headquarters," he said.
