West Java Provincial Government Claims Its Residents Are Obedient To Wearing Masks, The Percentage Reaches 97 Percent

JAKARTA - West Java Provincial Government Assistant for Government and People's Welfare, Dewi Sartika, claims that the level of compliance with masks in West Java has reached 97 percent.

"The level of community compliance in using masks has reached 97 percent. This means that most people are used to wearing masks," said Dewi in the productive dialogue "Stay Alert and Don't Be Careless at the End of the Year," Wednesday, December 8, quoted from Antara.

He added that the percentage of social distancing in West Java reached 82 percent. Likewise, the percentage of hospital occupancy is below three percent, and the cure rate is above 97 percent. Currently in West Java there are as many as 863 active cases.

Economic activities in the region have also been going well, despite implementing strict health protocols. For clustered areas, monitoring is carried out using the Peduli Protect application.

"Life is heading for improvement, while still implementing strict health protocols," he added.

Most of the regencies/cities in West Java, he continued, are in level two PPKM areas, of which 22 of the 27 regencies/cities are level two.

"Relaxation has been carried out, economic activities have been running according to health protocols. People are also used to implementing health protocols wherever they are," he explained.

In addition, officers from the Satpol PP and TNI/Polri also assist in implementing the health protocols properly. A number of meetings are still limited according to the regional level.

For Christmas and New Year, continued Dewi, her party will still limit gatherings in their area.

“We are also coordinating with a number of local governments to prepare for the anticipation of the Christmas and New Year holidays. There's no need to panic, but you have to stay alert," he said.
