JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Hari Nugroho said the Lenteng Agung flyover will be able to be crossed by public transportation by the end of 2020. Meanwhile, the Tanjung Barat flyover will be operated sometime after that.

"If nothing gets in the way, it is hoped that by the end of 2020 the Lenteng Agung flyover can be used by the general public who want to make a U-turn in the IISIP Lenteng Agung area," Hari told reporters, Thursday, August 13.

Hari said that currently the construction of a horseshoe-shaped flyover in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, has reached 80 percent.

"Currently, in the field, we are working on a fly over fence (railling) as protection for vehicles passing later on over the flyover, arranging the landscape under the fly over, and arranging drainage or channels," he said.

Hari also mentioned that there is another construction work being undertaken by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, namely the Senen Underpass Extension, Central Jakarta. Currently, the process has reached 70 percent.

The target for the Senen Extension Underpass will also be completed by the end of 2020. Currently, the excavation of the ground in the underground tunnel is being worked on as a means for vehicles to pass.

"A pedestrian bridge is also being worked on, both in front of the Senen Cinema and in front of the Senen Atrium, and also the Transjakarta bus stop as a stop for transit," said Hari.

Another construction work currently being carried out is the Cakung flyover to eliminate uneven intersections between the highway and the railroad.

As is known, the City of South Jakarta will soon have two overpasses that have a contemporary and instagramable appearance in the form of a horseshoe back to back, equipped with a garden and attractive lighting.

The Lenteng Agung and Tanjung Barat flyovers were built by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Bina Marga Office starting at the end of 2019.

The elevated road of Lenteng Agung consists of two overturned horseshoe-shaped flyovers, 880 meters long with a construction cost of Rp143.55 billion.

Meanwhile, the Tanjung Barat overpass also consists of two overturned horseshoe-shaped flyovers, with a total length of 1,120 meters with a construction cost of Rp163.26 billion.
