2 Sadistic Robbers Who Targeted Women In Jember Arrested

JEMBER - Two men who specialize in sadistic snatches targeting women were arrested by the Jember Police, East Java. Perpetrators often injure victims when snatching.

The two perpetrators are Yosi Yulian Pradana, from Kalisat District and M Ansori Lubis, a resident of Umbulsari District.

Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Komang Yogi Arya Wiguna said the two were arrested last weekend. One of the suspects, Yosi, was shot for fighting the police.

"The police shot the suspect in the leg because he was trying to run away and resisted the officers while they were being taken into custody," Komang said, Tuesday, December 7.

Both are criminals who have been wanted by the police for a long time. There are 40 locations where the robbery occurred.

"The suspect admitted that there were 40 crime scenes where crime cases took place from July - November 2021. The targets were mothers," continued AKP Komang.

In carrying out their actions, the two perpetrators did not hesitate to injure the victim. The modus operandi was that the perpetrators rode together and stalked the victim.

"Perpetrators often injure their victims using sickles. But for evidence of sickles, a search is still being carried out. Because at that time the perpetrators disposed of them. It was identified that one of the victims suffered serious injuries due to the slash of the perpetrator, and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital," said AKP Komang.

Both called the police are also recidivist. Yosi once stole a motorbike, while the perpetrator Ansori was involved in a murder case in 2015.

"Both of them were threatened from 365 of the Criminal Code related to acts of theft with violence, with a penalty of 9 years in prison," he concluded.
