JAKARTA - The Maluku Regional Police during 2021 have fired 33 of their members because they were proven to have committed violations, including dissent and being involved in drugs.

The Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. M. Roem Ohoirat, in Ambon, Monday, said that the number of police officers who were dishonorably dismissed in the ranks of the Maluku Regional Police tended to increase this year.

"We have fired 33 police officers, this is the highest case compared to 2020, which was only 28 people," said Roem.

He said that on Monday four police officers were fired for dissertation and narcotics offences.

"We have again dismissed the 4 police officers who worked in the Maluku Regional Police with disrespect," he said.

He explained that the four police officers were dismissed based on the Maluku Regional Police Chief's decision letter No. 339/11/2021 regarding the dismissal of members of the National Police.

The four police members, namely Brigadier RT involved in the Dissertation case, as well as First Brigadier MAT. While the other two, namely Chief Police Brigadier IA and Second Police Inspector Adjutant SAM involved in narcotics crime.

Roem explained the dismissal execution was not an achievement but a regret. However, that should be carried out as a form of appreciation toward other police members who worked well.
