Due To Extreme Weather, 4 Planes Failed To Land At Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport

BADUNG - Four planes failed to land at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Sunday, December 5 night. The plane failed to land because of the extreme weather that hit Bali.

Relations Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, said bad weather forced the plane to return to its place of origin.

"It's a return to base (RTB) or return to origin, because of bad weather at Ngurah Rai Airport, yes they were about to land, but because of bad weather they returned to Jakarta," said Taufan when contacted, Monday, December 6.

The planes that failed to land were Super Air Jet, Citilink, Batik Air and Lion Air. The plane failed to land at Ngurah Rai Airport on Sunday, December 5 night.

"There are four affected, one returning to the airport of origin or return to base, three more diverts or landing diversions," he added.

Meanwhile, three planes that were diverted or diverted, including those from Makassar to Bali, which were supposed to land at 20.40 p.m. local time, were diverted to Cengkareng, Jakarta.

There are also planes with the Bandung-Bali route diverted to Surabaya. Meanwhile, one more flight route, namely the Cengkareng-Bali route, was transferred to Surabaya.

Then, for one aircraft that decided to return to base to Cengkareng, it was the Super Air Jet which was scheduled to land at 17.40 p.m., Sunday, December 5. However, after the weather improved the plane was finally dispatched.

"(If) there is no cancellation, everything goes smoothly, normally, there are no problems," said Taufan.
