Suspected Of Harassing 3 Policewomen, Kasat Reskrim Selayar Police Becomes A Suspect In Extortion Case

JAKARTA - The former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Selayar Police, South Sulawesi Iptu AM, is officially named a suspect. However, it was not a case of alleged harassment of three policewomen, but a case of alleged extortion.

"Yes, he has been named a suspect in a different case (extortion, red)," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo to VOI, Thursday, August 13.

However, he could not explain who was being blackmailed by AM. It's just that, based on the results of the Iptu AM examination, he has extorted extortion several times in 2019. The allegation of extortion emerged because there were parties who reported it.

"From the initial statement from the reporter there were several tens of millions of values. This was carried out in January, April and September 2019," said Tompo.

Even though he has assumed the status of a suspect, Tompo has yet to confirm AM's dismissal. Because, currently it is still in the process of investigation.

"The most important thing here is that we try to objectively improve the organization from the existing problems," said Tompo.

Adaoun Iptu AM was in the spotlight after being involved in verbal abuse against three policewomen. The form of harassment by Iptu AM is by contacting the policewoman via a short message that is immoral.

Until finally, Iptu AM was removed from his position as Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Selayar Police of South Sulawesi. Iptu AM is still being questioned by the South Sulawesi Police Propam regarding this matter.
