DKI DPRD Member: If I Become A Director Of Transjakarta, I Will Voluntarily Resign

JAKARTA - Commission B of the DKI DPRD summoned the directors of PT Transjakarta BUMD to explain about the multiple accidents experienced by Transjakarta buses.

In front of the President Director of Transjakarta, Mochammad Yana Aditya and other Transjakarta directors, Member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD Ichwanul Muslimin admitted that he would definitely resign if he became a director of Transjakarta.

"As for the directors of Transjakarta, I'll just be direct. If I were in your father's position now, I would voluntarily resign," said Ichwanul at the DKI DPRD Building, Monday, November 6.

Ichwanul stated that Transjakarta's board of directors must be evaluated. This is because the Transjakarta accident has not only happened in the last two months. It is recorded that from September to the end of December 2021, there have been 248 Transjakarta bus accidents.

He also questioned the Head of the Regional Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) DKI Riyadi to explain in detail the recruitment process for Transjakarta directors. This is because he thinks the accident is caused by a problematic management system.

"My question is, what kind of system is this? If someone says human error, this is a management system that is not correct," he said.

Meanwhile, member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Adi Kurnia Setiadi, highlighted the background experience of the Director of Transjakarta Mochammad Yana Aditya. Adi questioned Yana's professional background before being appointed as President Director.

Because it is known, Yana had served as President Director of the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero). Adi also mentioned that Yana is a fishmonger.

"I don't want to be a fishmonger talking about transportation, what do I want to discuss. I want to know first who explains who is the underlying person who is not an expert. The leadership wants me to sit here to be replaced by my staff? People who are not elected by the people, please understand," he said. Adi.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Wahyu Dewanto, challenged Transjakarta Director Yana to make an integrity pact stating that he is ready to resign if the Transjakarta accident happens again.

"We challenge you, asking you to make an integrity pact, in front of us all, if something goes wrong again, you are ready to step down. If you are brave, please, this gives us a little confidence that the safety of public transportation should not be played with," explained Wahyu.

As is known, TransJakarta buses have had accidents at least six times in the last two months.

The accident occurred on October 25, 2021 in Cawang, East Jakarta, which left two people dead, namely the driver and passenger of the Transjakarta bus. Meanwhile, 31 passengers were injured.

Apart from Cawang, there was also a single accident in Senen, Central Jakarta. Then, another accident occurred on October 29, 2021, in Gandaria City, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

Then, on Thursday, December 2, in front of the Cililitan Wholesale Center (PGC). Then, the next day, there was a single TransJakarta bus accident in front of Ratu Plaza, Jl Sudirman Jakarta.

Then today, Monday, December 6, the Transjakarta bus Puribeta - Blok M route was involved in a single accident crashing into an empty land next to the Puri Beta 2 bus stop, Larangan, Tangerang City.
