The Facts Of The Deadly Fire Of The Cyber 1 Mampang Building

JAKARTA - The fire incident that occurred at Cyber 1 Mampang Building, South Jakarta, is currently in the spotlight. Because, the fire has claimed lives.

In addition, behind the fire incident, several facts were revealed. For example, the cause of the fire to the matter of data security.

2 Dead Victims

The first fact that was revealed behind the deadly fire was the number of victims. Originally, two people died as a result of the fire that occurred on Thursday, December 2.

Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, Mulat Wijayanto, stated that the two victims were visitors to Cyber 1 Building.

"Two people died, both were visitors," said Mulat in his statement, Thursday, December 2.

the dead were Seto (18) and Redzuan (17). They are technicians who are working at the scene.

The cause of death for the two victims was not due to burns from the fire. Instead, out of breath due to inhaling too much hot smoke in the room.

"The 18-year-old died at the scene, the other died when he was taken to the Mampang Hospital," said Mulat.

Electric Short Circuit

In addition to the death toll, the facts that have been revealed so far are about the cause of the fire. So far, the fire is thought to have been caused by a short circuit.

The Head of the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Herbert Plider of Gaol Competition stated that the allegation was based on the results of a preliminary investigation. Where, leading to the alleged electrical short circuit.

"Suspectedly due to a short circuit. No fire spread, just smoke on the second floor," said Herbert

It is suspected that the short circuit occurred from the server room, causing a thick cloud of smoke to emerge. Employees inside the building panicked and immediately ran out of the building because they saw the smoke.

Government Data

Apart from that, there is one thing that has become quite a concern behind the fire incident, namely data security. This is because Cyber 1 Building is one of the places where data is stored, including government property.

However, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria ensured that the government's data in the Cyber 1 building was safe.

"Alhamdulillah, on the second floor there is no government data. Indeed, in this building there is government data, but thank God it was not burned," said Riza.

Riza did not specify what data was stored in the building. He did not specify which agencies stored the data in the building.

But what is certain, for this incident, his party will conduct an evaluation related to occupational health facilities in the building.

The results of the evaluation are expected to be a lesson for all building managers in DKI to provide proper safety facilities.

"We will examine what is the cause, hopefully in the future we will take steps," said Riza.
