Ministry Of Health Data, COVID Cases In West Java Increase At Most, Reaching 83 People Per Day

JABAR - West Java Province experienced the most additions of COVID-19 cases with 83 new cases, according to data from the Ministry of Health today.

Data from the Ministry of Health shows that the major contributors to the increase in further cases of corona virus infection are East Java with an additional 35 cases, Central Java with an additional 30 cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 28 cases, and Banten with an additional 16 cases.

Overall, on Thursday the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 311, bringing the cumulative total to a total of 4,256,998 cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 until now.

Patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection who have recovered are recorded to have increased by 388 people to a total of 4,105,352 people. DKI Jakarta is listed as the province with the highest number of recovered patients (67 people) followed by West Java (54 people), Central Java (34 people), East Java (33 people), and North Maluku (31 people).

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 patients who died recorded an increase of 10 people to a total of 143,850 people. Additional death cases came from Central Java (4), Bali (2), Lampung (1), Riau (1), North Sulawesi (1), and South Sulawesi (1).

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of active COVID-19 cases, which includes patients who are still undergoing treatment or self-quarantine, as of Thursday was 8,796 cases, a decrease of 87 from the previous day.

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force urges residents to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols and reducing mobility to avoid the transmission of COVID-19.

The government is also still carrying out efforts to prevent and control COVID-19, including carrying out vaccinations and imposing restrictions on community activities to reduce the risk of disease transmission caused by the SARS-CoV-2 type corona virus and its variants.
