Thank God, Thousands Of Orphans Victims Of COVID-19 In Bekasi Get Social Assistance

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government in West Java Province distributed social assistance to 1,664 children who were orphaned, orphaned, or orphaned because one or both of their parents died due to COVID-19.

Head of Bekasi District Social Service Endin Samsudin said that apart from orphaned children, social assistance was also provided to 44 social welfare institutions (LKS).

"The aid distributed is in the form of food packages, school equipment, and 500 children's savings," he said in Cikarang, Thursday, December 2.

He said the assistance for basic food packages and school equipment came from the West Java Provincial Government while the children's savings assistance was a gift from Bank BJB. In addition, there was assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs and PT Hankook.

"Hopefully it can be used as well as possible for the survival of our children," said Endin. At the delivery of social assistance, Acting Regent of Bekasi Akhmad Marjuki expressed his gratitude to the West Java Provincial Government and Bank BJB for helping LKS and child victims COVID-19 in Bekasi Regency.

"I hope that my children who have been abandoned by their parents due to COVID-19 will not be discouraged, because the government will try to help," he said.
