JAKARTA - The South Sumatra Provincial Government has completed the provision of allowances for non-state civil servant (ASN) education personnel, totaling 9,335 people, worth IDR 21.1 billion.
The head of the South Sumatra Education Agency, Riza Fahlevi in Palembang, said that the money was given as an additional allowance for the implementation of online learning during July-December 2021.
The allowance was given to 6,609 teachers at the high school/vocational (SMA/SMK) and special schools (SLB) levels of IDR 400 thousand per month each.
Including 2,424 school administrators, they get IDR 300 thousand per month and 302 school operators in South Sumatra get IDR 500 thousand per month.
“After going through several administrative processes and validating the recipients' data. Now everyone has received the allowance. If it is judged that it still does not meet what is expected, please understand because the current financial condition is only limited to that", said Riza, Thursday, November 2, quoted from Antara.
So, according to him, with the completion of the provision of benefits as promised, the government hopes that every non-ASN education staff can optimize the quality of their work in providing educational services for school students.
“Please don't think about the size, which is important to be consistent with performance. Work according to the main tasks and functions of each. We don't want to make grandiose promises but hopefully next year this allowance will still be there and the amount will increase", he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the South Sumatra Regional House of Representatives, Syaiful Fadli, said the total amount paid was IDR 15,861,600,000 for non-ASN teachers, IDR 4,363,200,000 for non-ASN school administration staff, and IDR 906,000,000 for school operators. So for six months, the total is IDR 21,130,800,000.
"It is hoped that the emergence of this budget can be a solution to the conditions experienced by non-ASN or honorary teachers because not a few of them serve to the maximum without being compensated for their hard work", he said.

"In 2022, it is budgeted to increase by IDR 25 billion, including allowances for honorary teachers at special schools. Inshallah, hopefully, it can be realized", said Syaiful.
