Officials Retreat Participants In 212 Action On Jalan MH Thamrin

JAKARTA - The joint military and police forces repulsed the participants of the 212 Reunion who were still holding out on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta. The urge to disperse was carried out using a motorbike.

At around 11.10 WIB, the protestors who were forced to disperse were on the sidewalk around the MH Thamrin four-way intersection near the Ministry of Religion and the Mandiri building.

The number of officers who disbanded the Reunion 212 crowd was quite large. Until finally, the action participants left the location one by one, headed towards the HI Roundabout, while occasionally chanting takbir. The Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman had the opportunity to directly monitor the activities of the 212 Reunion action which began to be attended by the participants in the action. Dudung was accompanied by Pangdam Jaya Major General Mulyo Aji and Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran.

In a white tent near the National Monument (Monas) cross-view park, Dudung asked the action participants to stop their intention because the activity did not have a crowd permit.

"Hopefully, we hope that our brothers and sisters also don't take action because there is no permit. Let us build this nation as well as possible and let us maintain unity and integrity," said Dudung at the location, Thursday, December 2.

Separately, the chairman of PA 212 General Slamet Maarif gave a speech on Jalan Wahid Hasyim using a loudspeaker mounted on the command car.

In his speech, Slamet asked the action participants to organize the 212 Reunion without any disturbances. Slamet also asked the participants to disperse after the 212 Reunion was over.

"After this we will return to our respective places. We came for peace. We were told to go home, yes we went home. We came for peace, ready to go home in an orderly manner?" Slamet exclaimed.
