JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continue to investigate allegations of bribery in the procurement of goods and services in Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. One of the investigations related to the purchase of a car by the inactive North Hulu Sungai Regent, Abdul Wahid.
This investigation was carried out by examining two witnesses on Tuesday, November 30 yesterday. Those examined were the founder and caretaker of the Islamic boarding school (ponpes), Bobby Koesmanjaya and a private company named Ferry Riandy.
"The two witnesses were present and confirmed, among others, related to the alleged purchase of several cars by suspect AW, one of which has been confiscated by the investigator team from the Head of the HSU DPRD," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, December 1.
Previously, the KPK had indeed confiscated a black Honda minibus. In addition to the car, investigators also confiscated Abdul Wahid's clinic, which is located in Paliwara Village, Central Amuntai District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency.
In the bribery case for the procurement of goods and services, the KPK appointed and detained the Regent of Hulu Sungai Utara Abdul Wahid. This decision was made after the anti-custodial commission named three suspects who were caught in the red-handed operation (OTT) on September 15.
The three people who had already been named suspects and detained were the Acting Head of Public Works Office of the North Hulu Sungai Regency (HSU) Maliki; Director of CV Hanamas, Marhaini; and Director of CV Kalpataru, Fachriadi.
In this case, Abdul became a suspect because he received money from the Acting Head of the PUPRP Service, Maliki. The money was handed over according to his request for appointing Maliki.
In addition, Abdul also received a commitment fee of 10 percent from the work project for the Water Resources Sector of the North Hulu Sungai PUPRP in 2021 with an amount of IDR 500 million.
Next, he is also suspected of receiving money in the amount of Rp. 4.6 billion in 2019; Rp12 billion in 2020; and Rp1.8 billion in 2021. The money is given as a commitment fee from other projects that have been carried out by the private sector.
