National Strategic Projects Debuted, 91 Projects Have Been Completed

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs said that as many as 91 national strategic projects (PSN) had been completed in 2019 out of a total of 223 projects based on Presidential Decree No.56 of 2018.

"We hope that by the end of this year there will be two additional projects," said Deputy for the Coordination of Infrastructure Acceleration and Regional Development of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Wahyu Utomo at the 2019 End of Year Telematics Discussion Forum in Jakarta, Monday 23 December.

He explained that the two projects that will be completed by the end of this year are road and rail infrastructure for Adi Soemarmo Airport, Solo. So, he continued, the total projects that are still under construction until completion have reached around 87 percent.

"The construction is partially operational, although not yet complete. We are continuing to update it," he said.

One of the major projects that have been completed this year, he said, is the Palapa Ring project which connects 34 provinces via optical fiber with a broadband or broadband network.

Wahyu targets that by 2020, the construction of PSN will be completed to reach 141 infrastructure projects. Based on data from the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Provision (KPPIP) on its website, it states that apart from 223 PSN there are also three programs, namely the electricity program and the aircraft industry program as well as economic equality.

The total estimated financing of all PSNs spread across the Indonesian territory reaches IDR 4,183 trillion. Based on Presidential Decree Number 56 of 2018 concerning amendments to Perpres Number 58 of 2017, as many as 223 PSNs are projects of toll roads, national roads, and intercity and inner-city rail infrastructure projects.

Apart from that, there are also airport revitalization projects, construction of new airports, construction of new airports, one million houses program, construction of oil refineries, waste energy and a gas pipeline / LPG terminal project.

Then there are PSNs for drinking water, dams / irrigation networks, flood-retaining dykes, special economic zones / priority industrial areas, tourism, smelters, fisheries and marine and educational infrastructure.
