Madiun City Police Chief AKBP Putu Dewa Eka Darmawan said the suspect was NK (45) a resident of Sekip Hulu Village, Rengat, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau.
The suspect was arrested at his residence in Tengkerang Tengah Village, Marpoyan Damai, Pekanbaru City, Riau. Previously he lived and worked in Madiun City.
"NK is a private employee and claims to be able to pass the CPNS exam in exchange for some money. But after the victim finished taking the test, the promise was not realized," said AKBP Dewa when holding a press release at the Madiun City Police Headquarters quoted by Antara, Monday, November 29.
According to him, the suspect was reported by Purwanto, a resident of Nambangan Lor Village, Madiun City. Purwanto and three of his friends became victims of NK fraud who claimed to be able to pass the CPNS exam for formations in the Madiun City Government.
Unmitigated, the victim and his friends have been deceived up to a total of Rp1.035 billion. The suspect's promise never materialized, the victim then reported it to the police.
"The alleged fraud incident occurred between May and October 2019. After waiting, the suspect's promises have not been proven and finally the victim reported it in May 2021 yesterday," said the Police Chief.

The police chief explained that the amount of money deposited by the victim to the suspect varied. On average, the suspect gets around Rp. 250 million from one victim.

So far, only four people have claimed to be victims. It is possible that there are other victims who have not reported to the police. This is the first time the suspect has confessed to the police.
