Secretary General Of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani: We Continue To Defend Anies In DKI, But Is Formula E Needed By The Community?

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani emphasized that his party will continue to support the leadership of the Governor of DKI Jakarta until the end of his term in October 2022.

However, on the one hand, Muzani questioned the urgency of the Formula E plan to be held by Anies in June 2022. He conveyed this in a video broadcast on the faction's Instagram account,

"We will continue to defend Mas Anies' leadership in DKI Jakarta. Until the end of the period, we will continue to support him. But the question is, is Formula E part of the needs of the people of Jakarta? Is that the welfare?" said Muzani quoted on Sunday, November 28.

Muzani alluded to Anies' slogan since the campaign period "Forward the City, Make the Citizens Happy". If it is true that the slogan is implemented, Muzani questions whether the citizens of DKI will be happy if Formula E is held.

"The tagline is 'Advanced City, Happy Citizens', is that a measure of the progress of an aota? Is that what makes the people of Jakarta happy? Well, that's the problem," he said.

He also reminded Anies that Jakarta is still experiencing classic problems such as floods that still frequently hit until now. "Meanwhile in Jakarta, 2 hours of rain, floods, 3 hours of rain, floods, and so on," he continued.

Therefore, Muzani admitted that the Gerindra Party DPP will instruct the Gerindra faction of the DKI DPRD in conveying its aspirations regarding the electric car racing event to Anies.

"There will be many ways. In DKI there is a DPRD, all kinds of things. Therefore, we convey it," said Muzani.

As is known, Formula E will be held on June 4, 2022. Anies collaborated with the Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo as the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Jakarta E-Prix or Formula E and the Secretary General of IMI Ahmad Sahroni as the Chief Executive.
