JAKARTA - The video uploaded to the Instagram account @moodgood.id recently went viral and caused a stir in the virtual world. This video shows several female worshipers who were surprised because the pillars in one of the mosques in the Pontianak area shifted.

"If the above is willing, anything can happen, guys, tag your friends," reads the narration written by the account quoted from turnbackhoax, Sunday, November 28.

The female congregation also claimed that the incident of the shifting of the pillars of the mosque was an unseen thing.

However, is this video true? Let's check!

After an investigation, it seems that the pillars of the mosque have not moved or shifted. The prayer mat in the mosque was changed in position following the calibration of the Qibla direction with the assistance of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

Chairman of the Management of the Zakirin Mosque said the mosque would be renovated because of that calibration or alignment of the rows was also carried out.

"Because after being measured, it seems that the Qibla direction has shifted by 13 degrees from the previous direction," said Zakirin as quoted by turnbackhoax.

Thus the information circulating on Instagram regarding the shifting pillars of the mosque is incorrect, so the information falls into the wrong context category.
