Young Mother Claims to be Robbed and Persecuted in South Sulawesi, Turns Out It Was Just Forgery

JAKARTA - CA (26), a young mother in East Luwu, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) made a report to the police that she was robbed and abused. After the investigation, it turned out that everything was just forgery.

"It turns out that the woman only fabricated a story. The story was used as a report to the police," said East Luwu Police Chief, AKBP Indratmoko, when contacted by VOI, Monday, August 10.

Initially, CA reported what happened on Saturday, August 8 in Atue Village, Malili District. The reporter admitted that he was robbed by the driver of a car with police number DD 1413 GB.

CA claimed to have robbed his son's cell phone, IDR 8 million, and 2 ATM cards containing IDR 400,000. In addition, CA said the perpetrator had mistreated him so that she suffered facial wounds.

The police who followed up on this report found different facts. At the scene of the incident, no witnesses saw the robbery reported by CA. In addition, at the time of the incident which was reported by CA at around 13.30 WITA, the conditions were busy.

"We searched, we matched the information from time to time, it didn't connect. The plate numbers of the car were also not registered," continued Indratmoko.

In fact, CA only fabricated this story. CA admitted that her facial wounds were the result of her own action. CA also claimed that her son was fell and injured because of the robber. But apparently, it wasn't. 

"There is a family problem with her husband. There is still a divorce process. So she made that kind of report, in the hope that her husband will feel sorry for her and cancel the divorce," said Indratmoko.

This case is still being handled. The police are investigating criminal suspicion to make a false report.
