JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah ensured the acceleration of the distribution of the 2021 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) to workers. Until now, aid has been distributed to 7,163,043 people.

The Minister of Manpower Ida has signed the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 21 of 2021 concerning the Second Amendment to the Minister of Manpower Number 14 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for Providing Government Assistance in the Form of Salary/Wage Subsidies for Workers/Labourers in Handling the Impact of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 21 of 2021 is a regulation for the expansion of 2021 BSU recipients, considering that there is still some remaining from the BSU budget in 2021.

"We are doing this BSU expansion to streamline the remaining 2021 BSU budget, so that this remaining budget can encourage the achievement of BSU targets as an effort to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the economic sector," said Minister of Manpower Ida in a written statement quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 25.

The Ministry of Manpower has received 8,283,364 data on prospective BSU recipients in 2021 from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan with 517,120 people of whom are workers who become BSU recipients after the expansion of prospective recipients.

The Minister of Manpower explained that workers who do not meet the requirements to be recipients of wage subsidies are partly due to duplication of data with social assistance or other government assistance such as the Pre-Employment Card Program, Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Productive Micro Business Banpres (BPUM).

"Currently, there are 392,018 data that still need improvement. However, prospective recipients who are duplicated with social assistance or other government assistance cannot get BSU," he explained.

"We hope that the distribution of BSU in 2021 can run smoothly and really help workers/laborers affected by COVID-19," said Ida.
