According to the Minister of Home Affairs, regional spending will encourage an increase in money supply in the community. As a result, purchasing power and consumption at the household level will also increase. In addition, APBD spending can also stimulate the private sector whose finances are experiencing a contraction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "Because we know that more than Rp700 trillion of the budget from the central government was transferred to the regions, and regions also have fiscal space from regional original income and from other sources in accordance with the law," said the Minister of Home Affairs.

He reminded regions whose expenditure realization is still low to speed up the realization of their spending. To accelerate the realization of the APBD, the Minister of Home Affairs will also monitor and evaluate the realization of the APBD every week. The Ministry of Home Affairs will also deploy a team from the Inspectorate General (Itjen) and the Directorate General of Regional Financial Development to the regions to monitor the acceleration of the realization. Based on data from the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Financial Development Regions as of 19 November 2021, out of 34 provinces, only 8 provinces whose APBD expenditure realization figures are above 70 percent. These areas include the provinces of Papua, West Sulawesi, West Papua, North Sulawesi, North Kalimantan, Aceh, South Sumatra, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, and Jambi.

The Ministry of Home Affairs data also notes that there are regencies with realized APBD expenditures below 50 percent, namely Tolikara, North Penajam Paser, Yalimo, Mamberamo Raya, Mahakam Ulu, Arfak Mountains, Lahat, Enrekang, Raja Ampat, and Kupang. realization of expenditure which is still relatively low, including Cimahi, Tanjung Balai, Sorong, Sibolga, Bau-Bau, Batu, Kendari, Singkawang, Subulussalam, and Palembang.
