DKI BUMD Supply Beef And Chicken To Pekanbaru

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta BUMD PD Dharma Jaya will supply beef and chicken to Pekanbaru, Riau after signing a collaboration with Pekanbaru City BUMD subsidiary, PT Sarana Pangan Madani.

"We hope that this will be a start that we will develop further," said DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan during the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two business entities at Jakarta City Hall, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 24.

For the start of the collaboration, PD Dharma Jaya will provide and send 500 Kupang cattle to PT Sarana Pangan Madani for Eid al-Adha next year.

After that, it was followed by the supply of beef, buffalo and chicken to industrial areas in Riau.

Anies hopes that this cooperation will be a trigger for the DKI Provincial Government, especially BUMD, so that they can play a role in trade outside Jakarta so that they will complement each other's needs.

"Therefore, we hope that later with adequate food, PD Dharma Jaya will develop further cooperation, especially as Civil Food Facilities are BUMDs in Sumatra that focus on food," he said.

The hope, Anies continued, is that this cooperation will become an entry point for export activities.

"This sends a message to all that Indonesia has extraordinary potential, but sometimes we in the government do not connect that potential. So, when there is a government that does, we can expect the cooperation to be more optimal," he said.

PD Dharma Jaya is a BUMD of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which is engaged in slaughtering and trading livestock/meat.

Currently, Dharma Jaya has succeeded in becoming the largest supplier of meat in DKI Jakarta and PD Dharma Jaya's next mission is to expand the trading area at the national level.
