Khofifah Asks For Cases Of Abuse And Persecution Of Teenage Girls In Malang To Be Completely Investigate

SURABAYA - The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, regretted the case of molestation and mistreatment of a female student in Malang City. Khofifah urges the police to thoroughly investigate the case, and to process the criminal charges against all suspects so that there is a deterrent effect.

"I am very concerned and regret this incident. Moreover, the victim is still young and has been living in Ponpes and Orphans and Duafa orphanages," said Khofifah, in Surabaya, Wednesday, November 23.

Currently, said Khofifah, the East Java Provincial Government has moved quickly by securing victims to a safe house belonging to the East Java Provincial Social Service. Not only that, the Social Service Office of East Java has also brought the victim's biological mother to psychologically assist her.

"We have coordinated with the police, we have brought the victim to our shelter. In order to immediately get psychological-social therapy assistance, because of course Ananda who is the victim who is still a teenager, has experienced trauma, so he needs assistance," he said.

The East Java Social Service has also dispatched a team that will provide assistance during the legal process at the Malang Police. Because this is an important need for victims to be able to be strong from a psychological point of view as well as from a legal perspective.

"What happened to the victim is also a reminder for all of us, that children need a conducive environment for their growth and development. Parents' attention and vigilance must continue to be given so that our children can grow well mentally and physically," he said.

As it is known that in the past few days, a video of bullying that has befallen a child has gone viral, which was carried out by a number of perpetrators who are also teenagers. It was later discovered that the victim was bullied after being sexually assaulted.

The victim is the son of a mother who works as a household assistant. While the father is a person with mental disorders (ODGJ). Because the victim was entrusted to Ponpes and Orphanage Orphans and Duafa Ashidiqiyyah Asysyuhada about two years ago.

The chronology of the incident that happened to the victim occurred on November 18, 2021, at 08.00 WIB, the victim went to school, but until the afternoon had not returned to PP/PA. After maghrib the victim was brought home by his friend in a bruised condition.

After being questioned by the caregiver, it was discovered that the victim had been sexually assaulted and bullied by a number of people. This case was also reported to the Malang Police and the case is currently being handled by the authorities.

"The important point is that the victim is currently under our protection at the shelter. We will continue to provide assistance to the victim who is still a teenager and be calmed from his trauma, and the legal process is ongoing," added Khofifah.

Khofifah appealed to all parents to open a communication space with each of their children. Because with smooth and open communication, it is possible for children to share all their mental and physical conditions. Also, to the general public and the environment to be able to protect and maintain each other in order to provide a sense of security to all.
