GRESIK - Police officers from Gresik Regency, East Java, are pursuing the perpetrators of an attempt to kill a mother and child in Bambe Village, Driyorejo District. The suspect is believed to be the husband of the victim.

Gresik Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Wahyu Rizki Saputra, confirmed in Gresik that the pursuit was carried out together with a number of members by detecting the perpetrator's presence through a telephone number.

"Of course this is not easy, because the phone number of the perpetrator with the initials JK could be contacted previously, but is now inactive," Wahyu said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 24.

The provisional information, said Wahyu, is that it is suspected that the perpetrator JK had contacted his close family and reported that the motorbike he was carrying to escape from Gresik was parked in the Bulu area near the city of Surabaya.

"We will continue to pursue the perpetrators. What is clear is that they are not distant people. The results of the investigation of the condition of the house are in good condition," Wahyu explained.

Previously, there was a murder incident in Bambe Village, Driyorejo Gresik District, and the victim was a housewife named Tiana (55) who was found dead, while her son Lita (25) was seriously injured.

Head of Dusun Bambe Budiono said that the incident started with a neighbor of the victim named Mirah who was suspicious of the condition of the house which was still tightly closed, even though it was noon.

Mirah finally ventured into the victim's house through the back door, and when the door was opened she saw Lita, the victim's child lying helpless with her body covered in blood.

"Mirah immediately asked for help and reported to the village head, after that they were busy opening the victim's house," said Budiono.

A number of residents then evacuated Lita to undergo medical treatment at the Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik, due to severe sharp object injuries.

Meanwhile, Lita's mother was found dead in the room with her head covered with a pillow.

Meanwhile, at the scene of the incident, evidence was found in the form of scissors, LPG cylinders, blankets and pillowcases with splashes of the victim's blood.
