JAKARTA - The police have spoken out regarding clashes between community organizations (ormas) on Jalan Interchange West Karawang, Karawang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, November 24, noon.

Karawang Police Chief, AKBP Aldi Subartono said that his party was aware of the conveyance of aspirations by the GMBI mass organization in the KIIC Industrial Area (Karawang International Industrial City) regarding waste management.

Responding to this information, the Karawang Police have prepared joint personnel to secure the mass organization's demonstration.

"Where was the orderly implementation because we had planned from the beginning we prepared the troops with the available strength, thank God it was conducive," Aldi told reporters at the scene, Wednesday, November 24.

Aldi explained that the commotion started when one of the mass organizations used a gray Brio car with number S 1724 BB in the wrong direction.

"One of my friends from Central Java went the wrong way towards the city. Met with friends from another Karawang NGO, the incident happened," explained Aldi.

Furthermore, on the car pad there is a sticker of the name of the mass organization so that it attracts the attention of other mass organizations to pursue it. Feeling pressed, the passengers in the car panicked. Two of the three people in the car were beaten, while one person managed to escape into the hotel. As a result, two members of the mass organization were injured and their car was destroyed.

"There are injuries to three people who are now being treated, thank God they are being treated and all of them can communicate. We will continue to pay attention to their health," explained Aldi.

Aldi said his party with the help of the local Kodim would take firm action in accordance with applicable legal procedures. Currently conducting an examination and investigation of the incident.

"Essentially the Karawang Police are backed up with the Kodim. Regarding legal issues, we will take firm action, whoever is involved, of course, according to the results of the examination," he added.
