Stepanus Robin Pattuju Proposes JC, KPK Will Conduct Analysis

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will analyze the application for justice collaborator (JC) made by its former investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju. This analysis was conducted to explore whether or not the application was in accordance with the provisions of the Circular Letter of the Supreme Court Number 4 of 2011.

This was conveyed in response to the submission of JC or the witness of the perpetrator who cooperated with Stepanus. He is a defendant who received bribes from a number of parties related to handling allegations of corruption.

"The team will analyze whether this application complies with the terms and conditions for granting JC status to the defendant as applicable, including the provisions of SE MA Number 4 of 2011," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, November 23. .

Ali said that the JC submission made by Stepanus is the right of a defendant and must be respected. It's just that, Ali said, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the KPK and the panel of judges will consider comprehensively all the facts of the trial.

Not only that, an assessment of Stepanus' capacity and attitude as a defendant in the investigation process until the trial will also be considered.

"The KPK Prosecutor's Team and the panel of judges will certainly consider comprehensively all the facts in the trial. So that later it will be decided whether the application can be granted or not," he said.

"Furthermore, the prosecutor's team will put it into a letter of demand which will be read out according to the agenda set by the panel of judges," Ali added.

For information, Stepanus Robin, who received bribes from a number of parties related to the handling of corruption cases, including Azis Syamsuddin, applied to become a JC. This submission was made at a hearing that was held on Monday, November 22 at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

In the document submitted to the Jakarta Corruption Court, Robin alluded to his statement revealing the role of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar. Not only that, he also admitted his mistake and regretted his actions and apologized.

Previously, Stepanus Robin, who was a case broker at the KPK, was accused of receiving money from various parties, including Azis Syamsuddin, amounting to Rp11 billion and US$36 thousand.

In carrying out his actions, Stepanus was assisted by lawyer Maskur Husain and they worked from July 2020 to April this year. The receipt of money by both occurred in a number of places and was related to a number of cases.

One of the receptions made was from the Deputy Speaker of the DPR Azis Syamsuddin and a private party named Aliza Gunado. The two men gave Rp3.09 billion and US$36 thousand.
