JAKARTA - The Judicial Commission (KY) will open the widest possible access to complaints for people who want to complain if they find irregularities regarding the selection of candidates for Supreme Court Justices and candidates for ad hoc judges for criminal acts of corruption at the Supreme Court (MA).

"I underlined that the Judicial Commission opened the door as wide as possible and received input from the public, both to the KY Secretariat and through regional liaison offices," said Head of the Judicial Commission Recruitment Division, Siti Nurdjanah, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 22.

During the selection, the agency hopes that the community, non-governmental organizations, mass media, and others will actively participate in guarding it.

"So, I emphasize that the Judicial Commission opens the door wide and inputs from the community," said Siti.

According to Siti, input and suggestions from the wider community will be useful in obtaining or recruiting candidates for Supreme Court Justices and ad hoc judges for corruption crimes with quality and integrity.

Regarding the assets of prospective judges, Siti said that basically there is no prohibition against a prospective judge having more wealth as long as everything can be accounted for.

To trace the track record of a prospective judge, including the source of wealth, KY cooperates with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and other agencies.

In the process, the anti-corruption agency will report to KY the assets of the prospective judge, including the source or method of obtaining it.

Not only that, KY also accommodates reports from the public if they find any discrepancies.

"After that, we will clarify. If the report from the KPK and the public cannot be accounted for, it will be a record," he said.

However, if when clarified, the prospective judge can explain the origin of his assets to the KY, this will not be an obstacle or a stumbling block for the participants.

"Once again, what is certain is that the assets must be accounted for," he stressed.
