JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) for 2022. In its calculation, the wages of workers rose 0.85 percent or around Rp37 thousand to Rp4,453,953

The determination of this year's UMP is said to be in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations which are the reference for all regions of Indonesia.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said, the amount of the UMP was based on the provisions of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and the formula contained in Article 26 and Article 27 of Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages that apply to workers/laborers with less working period of 1 (one) year.

"So the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage in 2022 has been set at Rp4,453,935," said Governor Anies at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 21.

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta requires entrepreneurs to prepare the structure and scale of wages in their companies by taking into account the company's capabilities and productivity as a guideline for wages for workers/laborers with a working period of 1 (one) year or more.

In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also supervise and provide administrative sanctions for entrepreneurs who do not fulfill these obligations.

In addition to setting the Provincial Minimum Wage, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also implemented various other policies to improve the welfare of workers/laborers. Among other things, by providing assistance in transportation services, providing food at low prices, and personal education costs.

1. Expansion of the criteria for beneficiaries of the Jakarta Worker Card from those who originally earned UMP + 10 percent (ten percent) to UMP + 15 percent (fifteen percent) in order to reach more workers/laborers, so as to reduce expenses for workers' living expenses in Jakarta.
