Free From Prison, Habib Bahar Will Meet Habib Rizieq

JAKARTA - Assayid Bahar alias Habib Bahar bin Ali bin Smith has been released from the Class IIA Special Prison of Mount Sindur. He was previously detained since 18 December 2018.

Habib Bahar was sentenced to a criminal offense under Article 333 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of three years and Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of three months. During his criminal term since 2018, he received four months remission.

Habib Bahar's release was carried out because the person concerned had finished serving his criminal period. After being picked up by a lawyer and a number of his students this morning, Habib Bahar is scheduled to visit Habib Rizieq Syihab. "That's one of them later we will tell him because maybe we miss Habib Rizieq too. God willing, we will arrange a time with him," said Habib Bahar's lawyer, Ichwan Tuankotta, told reporters, Sunday, November 21.

But before meeting Habib Rizieq, Habib Bahar wanted to gather with his family first. "The legal team was the only one who was present, the lawyer who witnessed him leave this morning. There were none from the family either, only a few students were escorting him," said Ichwan.

According to Ichwan, Habib Bahar did not immediately return home after being released. Habib Bahar, said Ichwan, had gathered with his family in a place that he did not want to be mentioned.

"Habib is somewhere, yes, he doesn't go home. He still wants to gather with his family," he added. Ichwan revealed that after he was released from prison, Habib Bahar planned to return to preach to the regions. He said Habib Bahar will continue to struggle in preaching.

"He has a full schedule for the next year. God willing, he will go to safari areas. Earlier, he said he would also preach, he would fight under the command of our high priest," said Ichwan.
