Still Investigating Allegations Of Corruption In Formula E, KPK: After A New Study, The Results Will Be Announced

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron said that his party continues to explore and examine allegations of corruption in organizing the international Formula E racing event in Jakarta. The results of the study will be submitted after his subordinates have finished working.

"For Formula E, we are still investigating. Later when the review process is complete, we will announce the final results," Ghufron told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, November 19.

Ghufron ensured that his party was still working. It's just that, because the results are still in the realm of investigation and have not entered the exposure process in the realm of the leadership of the institution, there is nothing that can be conveyed to the public.

Furthermore, he is also reluctant to say whether this indication of corruption is related to the more expensive Formula E event in DKI Jakarta than in other countries. "I'm not going into that," he said.

According to Ghufron, the KPK is currently focusing on investigating further allegations of enriching oneself, others, and corporations.

"What is clear is that Corruption in Article 2 paragraph 1 enriches oneself by violating the law. Enriching oneself is not only for state officials, but for other people or corporations," he said.

"Or for example, there are allegations of abuse of authority in Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law or if there are other criminal acts as stipulated in Articles 5, 13, or 12. This is still in the process of being studied," added Ghufron.

Previously reported, the KPK admitted that it was investigating and had examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event.

Recently, the Head of DKI Jakarta Inspectorate Syaefulloh Hidayat and President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto visited the KPK's Red and White building on Tuesday, November 9.

They came to submit a 600-page document related to the plan to organize Formula E. This was intended to provide support for monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) efforts to the KPK leadership.

The document contains the approval process to the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event.
