DKI Proposes Rehab Of Village Head-Cat Official Houses Rp160 Billion, DPRD: Don't Leave It Uninhabited

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has proposed a budget of Rp160 billion for heavy and total rehabilitation activities at the official houses of the sub-district heads in DKI Jakarta. This budget is included in the 2022 DKI Regional Development and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBD).

Member of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, William Aditya Sarana, asked the DKI Provincial Government to ensure that the work on the rehabilitation of this official house can be targeted and occupied by the lurah and sub-district head.

Because, based on his observations, several official houses that have been renovated are not inhabited by the lurah and sub-district heads themselves.

“In practice, often even after the renovation, the official houses of the lurah and camat are not used. I asked if it was rehabilitated, then the lurah and subdistrict head should stay in their official houses. The point is to be able to improve the quality of public services,” William told reporters, Friday, November 19.

William assessed that the lurah and sub-district heads who do not live in the official residence make community service work not optimal.

It is feared that the village heads and sub-district heads will be difficult to find by the residents. Then, they become less responsive when needed to go to the field.

In addition, William also highlighted the low realization of the rehabilitation activities for the Camat and Lurah official homes in previous years.

For example, in Central Jakarta in 2020 the realization of official housing rehabilitation is only at 50 locations from the target of 80 locations.

"Planning for the rehabilitation of official residences must also be mature, not to have a large budget but low realization like in previous years," said William.
