Steal Parking Signs, Man From Tambun Was Beaten By Duren Sawit Residents

JAKARTA - The theft of parking signs belonging to the freight forwarding office in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta was thwarted by residents. The witness at the scene said that at that time the sign had been carried by the perpetrator using a motorbike.

Heri, a witness at the scene said that the parking sign weighed 10 kilograms and was carried by the perpetrator on a motorbike. However, said Heri, his actions were known by the employees and thus attracted the attention of local residents.

"He stopped, he carried a parking sign. Then I went to him. He couldn't walk because his motorbike died," said Heri in Jakarta, Friday.

Heri added that the perpetrator carried out the action alone during the day when conditions around the location were quiet.

The perpetrators had previously monitored the surrounding environment before finally carrying out the theft. "He is himself. He is from Tambun, Bekasi, living in the NCO area," said Heri.

Residents then reported the theft to the Duren Sawit Police. Not long after, the perpetrator was then detained by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police before being judged by the crowd who had arrived.

The police also brought evidence in the form of CCTV footage, the motorbike used by the perpetrators, and stolen parking signs.
