The Central Pertamina Office Demonstrated Mass Regarding Refinery Burning In Cilacap, Here's The Contents Of The Demand

JAKARTA - The police have not yet completed their investigation into the burning of the oil refinery in Cilacap, Pertamina's central office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Central Jakarta, while a number of community elements who are members of the LAKSI (Indonesian Strategic Studies Advocacy Institute) have demonstrated.

Field action coordinator Umar Sagala said that LAKSI came to Pertamina to request and demand the resignation of Pertamina's directors, who were deemed to have caused huge losses to state assets and finances due to the fire incident.

Through a release received by VOI, Friday, November 19, it was written that the tank fire at the Cilacap refinery was not the first time this had occurred. Last June, one of the tanks containing benzene belonging to PT Pertamina also caught fire. The Cilacap refinery is one of Pertamina's 6 refineries, and has a processing capacity of 270 thousand barrels per day. This oil refinery has 228 tanks to accommodate crude to be processed, gas and fuel from crude oil processing.

Umar assesses the great fire incident at the oil refinery owned by PT. Pertamina is an odd or unusual event because the losses and social impacts are very large for the country.

"We ask that the State Minister for SOEs immediately removes Pertamina's Directors, besides that Pertamina's Directors must dare to take responsibility for the losses suffered by Pertamina. We ask that the police have the courage to take firm action and immediately identify the suspects in the oil refinery fire incident to Pertamina's board of directors. We ask that the police do not let this case only ensnare field workers, while Pertamina's directors who have full authority are still free to laugh out there, where is your conscience? O Pertamina directors. Don't let there be no follow-up, because the state bears huge losses as a result of this fire." write the description.

The demonstrators arrived at around 14.00 WIB, carrying banners. The demonstration went on without any clashes.
