KPK Firli's Strong Warning For Officials: Avoid And Stop Corruption!

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri asked state officials including regional heads to stay away from and stop corrupt practices. Because, the KPK will not tire of working to eradicate riots in the country.

"We convey and always remind that the KPK is never tired, never stops doing work for the nation, freeing the country from corrupt practices," Firli said as quoted from the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Friday, November 19.

Furthermore, he reminded all officials without exception not to have any intention of committing corruption. Firli said that anyone who was involved in corruption would be prosecuted and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) would know about it, even though this presumptuous practice was carried out in secret.

"We always remind state administrators, regional heads, governors, regents, mayors, and anyone to never think about committing corruption and never think that corruption cases will never be revealed," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

"Our message is to avoid and stop corrupt practices," added Firli. The KPK has just named the North Hulu Sungai Regent (HSU) Abdul Wahid as a suspect in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services. This determination was made after the KPK conducted an OTT on September 15 and named three suspects, namely the Acting Head of Public Works Office of the PUPRP Office of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency (HSU) Maliki; Director of CV Hanamas, Marhaini; and Director of CV Kalpataru, Fachriadi.

In this case, Abdul became a suspect because he received money from the Acting Head of the PUPRP Service, Maliki. The money was handed over according to his request for appointing Maliki.

In addition, Abdul also received a commitment fee of 10 percent from the work project for the Water Resources Sector of the North Hulu Sungai PUPRP in 2021 with an amount of IDR 500 million.

Next, he is also suspected of receiving money in the amount of Rp. 4.6 billion in 2019; Rp12 billion in 2020; and Rp1.8 billion in 2021. The money is given as a commitment fee from other projects that have been carried out by the private sector.
