Fahri Hamzah Defends Fadli Zon After Being Reprimanded By Prabowo, Gerindra: Hopefully No One Will Compete With Each Other

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, was criticized by Gerindra Party officials for continuously defending Fadli Zon, who was reprimanded by Prabowo Subianto after criticizing President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) about the Sintang flood. The deputy governor and spokesman for the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, asked Fahri Hamzah to mature in politics. He said Gerindra Party cadres were always reminded to respect the internal affairs of other parties. According to him, it is maturity and politeness in politics.

"What is more principled is that we must respect the internal affairs of other parties. That is a form of maturity and political manners that were taught to us," said Habiburokhman, Friday, November 19. He then mentioned Fahri Hamzah, who used to have a dispute with PKS. At that time, according to him, the general chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, reminded the cadres not to interfere in these matters.

"When Mr. Fahri had an argument with PKS the other day, Mr. Prabowo warned us not to go along with girls or make comments. Both Mr. Fahri and PKS are our close friends," said Habiburokhman.

This member of Commission III of the DPR RI emphasized that the warning given to Fadli Zon was a common thing within Gerindra. He emphasized that Fadli Zon and Gerindra are inseparable parts.

"The issue of reprimands in our party is a common thing as part of internal democracy and the spirit of reminding each other in kindness. Pak Fadli and Gerindra are two things that cannot be separated," he said.

Habiburokhman also hoped that no outside party would try to pit Fadli Zon and the Gerindra Party against each other.

"Hopefully there will be no outside parties pitting against each other because it will be useless," he said. Previously, after bringing up the star of service given to Fadli Zon, Fahri Hamzah again defended his friend. This time, the Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party brought up the question of the boundaries of political parties (parties).

"I have already said that the case of Mr. @fadlizon is not a case of a political party but a case of public officials, people who are paid by the people and the state to carry out certain (legislative) tasks. So we are not talking about political parties but about people's rights in public office ," said Fahri Hamzah on his Twitter account, Thursday, November 18.

Fadli Zon, who is a member of the DPR RI, according to Fahri Hamzah, has a supervisory function over the government. The supervisory function is regulated in the law in accordance with the mandate given by the community.

"Political parties may have certain rules and codes of conduct, but no matter how high the internal rules of political parties may be, they must not hinder someone from carrying out the tasks assigned to him by the people. Because he gets his salary and honor from the people, not from political parties," said Fahr.
