CENTRAL BENGKULU - The Central Bengkulu Regency Government, Bengkulu plans to impose sanctions on residents who do not want to undergo COVID-19 vaccination without medical reasons.

Head of the Central Bengkulu Regency Social Service, Nurul Iwan Setiawan, said the district government plans to impose sanctions on residents who do not want to be vaccinated in December 2021.

"The Regent's SE has also been made and this month we will socialize it first," said Nurul, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

According to him, there are three administrative sanctions that will be imposed on residents who do not want to be vaccinated, namely delaying or stopping the provision of social assistance, delaying or stopping the provision of government administrative services, and imposing fines.

The amount of the fine that will be imposed on residents who do not want to undergo COVID-19 vaccination without a clear medical reason, said Nurul, is still being discussed by the district government.

Nurul said the imposition of sanctions for residents who did not want to be vaccinated was carried out referring to Presidential Regulation Number 14 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2020 concerning Vaccine Procurement and Vaccination Implementation in the Context of Overcoming the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Deputy Regent of Central Bengkulu, Septi Peryadi, appealed to residents who have not received the COVID-19 vaccination to immediately visit the vaccination service facility.

"Please vaccinate the public at the puskesmas or other health care facilities," he said.
