Contractions On The Bus When Returning To Pekalongan, PJR Palikanci Officers Help This Mother Give Birth

CIREBON - A member of the Highway Patrol Police (PJR) of the Palikanci Toll Road, Ciperna, Cirebon, helps a woman give birth in a patrol car while on duty.

Kanit VIII PJR Palikanci-Pejagan Toll Road Sat PJR Traffic Directorate of West Java Police, AKP Aries Riyanto explained the chronology of the assistance. On Wednesday, November 17, a woman named Watriyah (20) was about to return to her hometown from Jakarta to Pekalongan to give birth.

At around 11.30 WIB, Aries and three other members were on patrol around the toll road using two PJR cars. Exactly at KM 214, the Dedy Jaya Bus stopped in front of the patrol vehicle, followed by the exit of the bus driver who immediately asked for help.

"The bus driver said that a passenger who was about to give birth was not strong, and the contractions continued. We immediately helped out and put him in the patrol car, because the mother's position was unable to walk," said Aries in a written statement, Antara, Thursday, November 18.

Watriyah with her husband and a child as well as PJR officers rushed to Ciperna to find the nearest health facility (Faskes). However, watriyah in the end gave birth to her child in the car.

“When they arrived at the Ciperna Health Center, the midwife and nurse came out. When they saw the condition of the mother, it turned out that the baby had already come out (head and body position). Finally, the delivery was carried out and the baby was taken, after which the mother and baby were taken to the puskesmas. My estimate is that the mother has given birth at KM 213," he said.

Aries explained that the baby was born healthy, female, weighing 3 kg and height 49 cm. Even after giving birth at around 11.50 WIB, Watriyah was able to continue her journey to her hometown accompanied by the puskesmas.

“I received information that the mother was able to go home around four in the afternoon. Therefore, two of my members who had been securing the mother's belongings met her mother in the east of Kanci. I also had the chance to meet the mother and baby while they were continuing their journey, Alhamdulillah both of them are healthy, “explained Aries.

Apart from AKP Aries Riyanto, there were three other members who assisted in the delivery process for Watriyah, namely AIPTU Carwa, AIPTU Suryadi Mertaprawira, and Aipda Gugum Gumilar.
